Alia Bhatt, who is currently one of the most sought after actresses by filmmakers, has bagged another project.
The "Highway" actress has been roped in for Homi Adajania's next opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.
Interestingly, Bhatt and Rajput have never worked together and the untitled film, which is set into two different eras, the fresh onscreen pair will be seen romancing in both time periods.
"Since Sushant and Alia have never worked together, the pairing will be fresh. But makers have cast them together mainly because they fit their parts perfectly. Homi was looking for an unusual pair that could also deliver strong performances. And after mulling over it for some time, he and Dinesh (Vijan; producer) zeroed in on the two actors," a source told the Hindustan Times.
The film is apparently a big budget movie from the "Finding Fanny" director and Dinesh Vijan and is likely to go on floors by mid next year.
"The makers might issue an official announcement very soon," the source added.
Meanwhile, Bhatt who is busy shooting for Vikas Bahl's "Shandaar" along with Shahid Kapoor, will wrap up the film before the first schedule of Adajania's romantic film kicks offs.
Recently, the actress has also bagged Ayan Mukherji's untitled film alongside Ranbir Kapoor and the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book "Half Girlfriend". There were also reports that she had been roped in to play the lead in the sequel to 2008 blockbuster "Rock On!". However, further reports on the news are under wraps.
On the other hand, Rajput will soon be seen in Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer "Pk" releasing on 19 December. The actor plays an important role in the film.
Further, the "Kai Po Che" actor will also feature in "Detective Byomkesh Bakshy". He is also shooting for the biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shekhar Kapur's "Paani".
