Moviegoers may have missed Ranveer Singh in his Alauddin Khilji avatar thanks to the ongoing protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, but the actor still treated his fans to the new poster of Rohit Shetty's upcoming film Simmba a couple of days ago.
He will be seen stepping into the shoes of a corrupt and notorious cop, the character played by Jr NTR in his 2015 Telugu film Temper.
While the makers are still on hunt for the leading lady opposite Ranveer Singh in the remake of Temper, recent reports suggest Alia Bhatt is likely to play the actor's love interest in the film.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Alia has given her approval for the project. However, she is yet to sign on the dotted line.
If the reports turns out to be true, Simmba will be Alia and Ranveer's second film after Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, where the two actors are coming together for the first time in a film.
Fans have witnessed Alia and Ranveer's fun and loving chemistry in several TV commercials. If everything falls in place, it will be a treat to watch two energetic actors spreading their magic on the silver screen.
Simmba also marks Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh second collaboration after they worked together in the short film Ranveer Ching Returns, which became quite popular among their fans.
While the movie will release on December 28, 2018, we expect to see Ranveer Singh in a never-before-seen avatar, showcasing his madness on the big screen.
On the work front, Alia is currently shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Raazi, where she will be seen sharing screen space with Vicky Kaushal. The movie is slated to hit the theatres in May 2018.
Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's next, 83 -- a biopic based on the life of the cricket legend himself.
