Ali Asgar, who played the role of Nani on The Kapil Sharma Show, opened up for the first time on why he quit the show and his equation with its host, Kapil Sharma.
In an interview with DNA, Ali said that it was because of creative differences that he parted ways with the comedy series. Also, he felt that his character had become stagnant and had nothing new to offer.
Throwing some light on his equation with Kapil, which was earlier believed to be the reason for his exiting the show, Ali said that he had no enmity with Kapil. "I have no enmity (with Kapil) or any personal problems. I kept quiet because if I say anything, I don't how it will be interpreted. I am a non-controversial person and want my work to speak. I was his (Kapil's) well-wisher, and I will always be," he added.
Ali along with Chandan Prabhakar and Sunil Grover took an exit from the show after the latter landed in a massive fight with Kapil aboard a flight in March this year. However, based on Ali's statement, it appears that he didn't exit The Kapil Sharma Show because of Kapil and Sunil's controversy but had his own reasons to part ways.
He also hinted about a new show with all the former co-stars of The Kapil Sharma Show. To be hosted by Sunil, the new show is expected to go on air from July. "Creatively, discussions are on, but till it is concrete and the shoot happens, I can't say anything. Many a times a lot of preparations are done, but changes happen on the day of the shoot or on the telecast day. But hopefully, in July something new will start," Ali said.
Recently, there were reports that Sunil is teaming up with Kapil's arch rival Krushna Abhishek for a new comedy show on Sony TV. However, nothing has been finalised as of now.
