Twitter Permanently Bans Alex Jones And Infowars Accounts

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is officially banned from major social media websites. On Thursday, September 6, Twitter permanently banned both Alex Jones' profile and his website InfoWars stating that his recent posts have violated company's abuse and harassment policies.

Twitter posted a series of tweets explaining their decision to remove Jones from their platform. "Today, we permanently suspended @realalexjones and @infowars from Twitter and Periscope. We took this action based on new reports of Tweets and videos posted yesterday that violate our abusive behavior policy, in addition to the accounts' past violations."

The company usually does not comment on individual accounts but "wanted to be open about this action, given the broad interest in this case".

Here are five of his biggest conspiracy theories;

9/11 terror attack

Jones reviews old interview footage of the president-elect to substantiate his claims about the 9/11 terror attack was an 'inside job'. He said that the president was an insider and knew about bombs being detonated within twin towers. He goes on to say that the current President of US Donald Trump is 'amazing' as he was there when the twins came crashing down. Which only means to say that he knew nothing about it, according to Media Matters.

"If Donald Trump was an insider, he would have known there was a stand down that day and that Saudi Arabia was involved in 9/11 with criminal elements of our government. He would have gone along with the official story. But he didn't. That's why Donald Trump is so amazing."

Lady Gaga concert a satanic prayer!

The radio show host warned his followers about Lady Gaga's concert was a satanic ritual. He said, "Lady Gaga wanted to manipulate and condition people into believing 'I am the goddess of Satan,' ruling over you with the rise of the robots in a ritual of lesser magic. They have to tell you what they're planning in the future," according to Chron.

He even labeled Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama as demons.

Orlando shooting

The mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando was one of the most tragic incidents in history. On the night of the incident, Jones uploaded a video saying that the shooting was orchestrated by the government so it could pass "hate laws to deal with right-wingers and to disarm gun owners," as reported by The New York Times.

Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting

On more than one occasion Jones has claimed that the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting was a hoax. The mass shooting took lives 20 children and six adults which according to him was "completely faked with actors".

According to Politifact, Jones said that the entire shooting was enacted by professional actors and this was sponsored by former US president Obama to introduce gun restrictions. "It's actors playing different parts of different people. I've looked at it and undoubtedly there's a cover-up," he said.

Boston Marathon bombing

Like how Jones cooked up conspiracy theories about 9/11 and the Orlando shooting, he had concocted a new theory about Federal Agents bombing people to create fear in people. On his radio show, he said, "To appeal to the fears of the antigovernment Patriot movement." He told that the government wants to take away civil liberties and promote homeland security to keep people in line, according to The Los Angeles Times.
