Emerging handset maker Alcatel has unveiled a mid-range smartphone, One Touch Star, ahead of the international mobile convention MWC (Mobile World Congress) which is set to kick-off in less than two weeks.
Alcatel's new smartphone sports a 4-inch AMOLED 16M color display with 800x480p resolution and packs a dual-core processor with 1GHz CPU speed.

According to Android Community website, the One Touch Star smartphone is expected to be priced around $315 (₹17,000).
There is no official confirmation from the company about the availability the device. More information is expected to be announced at the MWC 2013 event which is scheduled to start on 25 February in Barcelona.
At the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 held in January, Alcatel launched its One Touch series-based Tab 7, 7 HD and 8 HD tablets, and a high-end smartphone range that includes One Touch Idol, Idol Scribe HD, and Idol Ultra.
Alcatel Mobile Phones was established in 2004 as a joint venture between Chinese electronics firm TCL and French telecommunications equipment company Alcatel-Lucent.
