Technology firm Alcatel has unveiled a couple of smartphones - Touch Idol S, Idol Mini, and the One Touch Evo 8 HD tablet.
The new Alcatel One Touch Idol S smartphone sports a 4.7-inch IPS screen with HD 720x1280p resolution having dragon trail glass shield and an Oleophobic coating (restrains sweaty finger prints clinging on to the screen). It features Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB memory (expandable up to 32GB) and sports a 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear side. On the front side, it flaunts a 1.2-megapixel snapper.
On the other hand, One Touch Idol Mini features a 4.3-inch FWVGA (480x854p) display with Oleophobic coating, Android V4.2 Jelly Bean OS and 1.3GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. The small mid-range phone will ship with a 5.0-megapixel camera main camera and a VGA (0.3-megapixel) camera on the front side.
The company's new tablet, One Touch 8 Evo HD, flaunts an 8.0-inch IPS 1024x768 pixel resolution screen and packs ARM Cortex A9 dual-core processor which can top a CPU speed close 1.6GHz. It runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a high capacity 4,160 mAh battery and houses a 3.0-megapixel primary camera on the back side plus a 2.0-megapixel secondary camera.
As of now, there is no word on the price details of these devices and their availability in global markets. But rumours are rife that these devices may be showcased at the upcoming international electronics trade fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin)2013 which is scheduled to kick-off on 6 September.
