Alcatel on Monday launched a new budget handset dubbed as the Pop Star in India.
The new phone sports a 5.0-inch HD screen with full lamination to provide clarity under direct sunlight for reading on the display and it comes with MediaTek quad-core processor backed by 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage and a 2000mAh battery.
It also houses a decent 8MP camera with LED flash on the back and a 5MP snapper with fixed focus on the front.
The company has confirmed the new Pop Star phone will be available exclusively on Gadgets 360 e-commerce site for Rs. 6,999.
"POP STAR is our fashionable yet affordable range of smartphones. We are very excited to launch this phone in partnership with Gadgets 360°and this is another step towards our recent e-commerce initiative to bring technological advanced and stylish phones at affordable pricing," Praveen Valecha, regional director of Alcatel APAC BU India, said in a statement.
Competition:
The Alcatel Pop Star (4G) will be pitted against the popular Micromax Canvas Spark series, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime and the new Asus Zenfone GO, among others.
