Pixel Pictures, one of the leading TV production houses in South India, has won the mandate to produce the first talk show for Colors Super - Super Talktime.
Conceptualised and executed by Pixel's team, the show marks yet another step in the company's diversification into other content forms. Pixel, which first entered the South Indian TV production industry in 2013, has been best known for adapting international reality shows like Super Minute and Dancing Star to cater to regional audiences.
The show will be hosted by popular anchor Akul Balaji, who was the winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 2. The multifaceted personality, who is known for his humour and wit, will be interacting with some of the biggest celebrities from the Kannada entertainment industry.
"When we thought of a talk show for Kannada, we wanted to do something different. Super Talktime is for the audiences who want to watch gossip and games with celebrities involved," said Pixel Pictures CEO Prashanti Malisetti.
"Akul will be hosting the show. Involving a lot of humour, it would be the perfect show to binge watch on a weekday, carrying the weekend fever forward. Our show would be a nice addition to prime time television," Malisetti added.
The show format follows a one-hour show to be aired on Thursdays and Fridays. Each episode would feature two or three celebrity guests, bringing in the perfect blend of humour, games and gossips with the celebrity. The studio audience will also get a chance to participate in the discussion.
