Actor Akshay Kumar who is known for his action flicks is again returning to the genre with "Rowdy Rathore."

This is one of the most-anticipated films of 2012 and the "Khiladi" actor portrays the role of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vikram Rathore. He is paired with actress Sonakshi Sinha.

The 41-year-old actor is learning a special form of Karate called Combat Karate for his role in the film.

Akshay and Sonakshi share screenspace for the first time in this film. However, after "Rowdy Rathore" both the actors will be seen together in two more films, "Joker" and "Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai 2."

Very recently, "Rowdy Rathore" released its theatrical trailer at a music launch function in Mumbai.

The presence of Akshay, Sonakshi and director Prabhudeva created quite a riot in a crowd of around 500 fans.

The shooting of the film started on Aug. 10, 2011. It will hit screens on June 1, 2012.
