Akshay Kumar starrer "Rustom" and Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro" are releasing on the same date, but the producer of the former said that he has no reason to be worried about the box office clash.
Producer Neeraj Pandey apparently is not bothered about the two big films releasing on the same day. "What clash? Is it for the first time in movie history that two movies are releasing on the same day? And frankly, why should I be nervous?" Neeraj told SpotboyE when asked if he is nervous about "Rustom" and "Mohenjo Daro" clash.
While there were reports suggesting that the makers of the Akshay and Hrithik starrers were in talks to avoid the clash, Neeraj said that such reports are "baseless." Earlier, Akshay also said that there is no reason for either of the parties to worry as both the films will cash on consecutive holidays.
"It's (August 12) is a big date. It has a lot of holidays (August 15- Independence Day and August 18- Raksha Bandhan, plus the weekend). And history has shown that two films which had released on such days, have both made money. It has happened a lot of times. We wish both the films do well," Bollywoodlife had quoted Akshay as saying earlier.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the movie "Rustom" is based on the real-life incident of Nanavati murder case. Akshay plays the character of a Naval officer and Ileana D'Cruz will be seen as his wife in the film. It also features Esha Gupta in a key role.
On the other hand, Hrithik's "Mohenjo Daro" is a period drama based on the ancient Indus Valley civilisation. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film also features Pooja Hegde and Kabir Bedi among others.
