Akshay Kumar's movies have a record of becoming box office hits, especially if they are released after the Indian Premier League (IPL). Akshay's last films released after IPL turned out to blockbusters, and now the actor is ready with his upcoming movie "Housefull 3," which will be released after the ongoing edition of the IPL.
"Rowdy Rathore" was released on June 1, 2012, and then "Holiday" had hit the screens on June 6, 2014. Both of Akshay's films released after the IPL and were very successful at the box office. "Rowdy Rathore" and "Holiday" also crossed Rs. 100 crore at the box office. "Rowdy Rathore" had made a lifetime box office collection of Rs. 133.25 crore and "Holiday" made an earning of Rs. 112.18 crore at the domestic market, according to Bollywood Hundgama.
Now, after two years, "Housefull 3" is set to hit the screens on June 3, 2016, and the buzz is high for the film to cross Rs. 100-crore mark in India. However, it remains to be seen whether "Housefull 3" will also impress the audience at the box office.
Fans of Akshay Kumar are eagerly looking forward to watching him come back to the comedy genre with "Housefull 3." He has played intense roles in movies like "Baby," "Gabbar is Back" and "Airlift," and now the actor will return to another genre he has received huge love for: Comedy.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Housefull 3" is the third instalment of the popular series. Apart from Akshay, the movie also features Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon.
