The co-producer of Akshay Kumar's "Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty," Vipul Shah, had last month said that he was working on the script of the film's sequel, but Sonakshi Sinha has now reportedly made a contradictory statement. The actress has said that the making of "Holiday 2" is still a speculation.
"I have not even heard of 'Holiday 2' happening or not happening. I think everything right now that is going around is speculation. You should just wait for an announcement from me," IANS quoted Sonakshi as saying.
Earlier, Vipul had told DNA, "I am already working on a script for 'Holiday 2.' We always knew that Holiday would materialise into a franchise when we thought of making the first part. There are some films you know can be turned into a franchise while there are some which should be allowed to just be. 'Holiday definitely has the potential to become one. Hence, we are planning 'Holiday 2' now."
The report had also said that AR Murugadoss, who had directed the original film, will direct the sequel too. Although Sonakshi had played the leading lady in "Holiday," it is not known whether the actress will reprise her role in "Holiday 2" or not; if at all the sequel is made.
Meanwhile, Akshay has a number of upcoming movies, including "Housefull 3," "Rustom" and Rajinikanth's "2.0," lined up for this year. On the other hand, Sonakshi will next be seen in "Akira" and "Force 2." Also, Vipul will start shooting for "Namastey England" in August this year and the producer is reportedly considering Sonakshi for the female lead's role in the film.
In other news, Akshay's unrecognisable look in "2.0" was recently revealed. The actor plays the role of an antagonist and his crow-like appearance in the film surprised fans. Akshay will reportedly be seen as a wicked scientist in the Rajinikanth starrer.
