Neeraj Pandey's latest release "Baby" starring Akshay Kumar has received positive response from viewers and is minting huge money at the box office.
And with the success of the film, the makers are planning to team up again with Kumar and the rest of the cast for its sequel.
However, reports have been doing the rounds that Varun Dhawan has been approached to join the casts for the next installment.
"Although Varun's date diary is packed right now, the makers are keen on having him on board," a source told Hindustan Times.
If the deal is sealed, this would be the first time the "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya" actor will share screen space with the "Khiladi". The duo has known each other since long, as Kumar has worked with Varun's father and director David Dhawan in many films.
"Varun has known Akshay since he was a kid, as the senior actor has done many films with David Dhawan," the source added.
The action thriller based on terrorism, has high doses of action sequences all performed by the "Holiday" actor himself. Apart from Kumar, the film features Tapsee Pannu in female lead role and Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa and Rana Daggubati appear in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Varun is busy promoting his film "Badlapur" that will hit the theatres on 20 February. In the film, the actor has transformed himself from the conventional romantic hero to a tough, fierce-looking man with a mission in mind. Varun's never-before-seen macho avatar in the film, could be the reason why "Baby" makers are keen to have him on board.
The "Student of the Year" actor also has Remo D'Souza's "ABCD 2" lined up for release this year, opposite Shraddha Kapoor.
