Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, who have worked together in several hit films, will soon be teaming up yet again in Rohit Shetty's production venture.
To be directed by Priyadarshan, the yet-to-be-titled film will see Akshay as a fun-loving Punjabi guy. The shooting of the film will begin in April next year. It will majorly be shot in Mumbai and Punjab.
"Akshay will play a loud, fun-loving Punjabi character in Rohit's production. The shooting will start from April next year and take place in Mumbai and Punjab. Paresh has been busy with politics ever since he won the Lok Sabha ticket for the BJP and has done very few films, but he and Priyan are friends, so the actor is making time for this film. He plays a pivotal role in the film," a source told DNA.
Although this is the first time Akshay is teaming up with Rohit, he, Paresh and Priyadarshan have delivered several hit films in the past, including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and De Dana Dan. Akshay, Paresh and Priyadarshan had last worked together in De Dana Dan.
The film will also mark the return of Priyadarshan in Bollywood. His last film was Rangrezz (2013) starring Jackky Bhagnani. "The film is being written by me and Chennai Express writer Yunus. The actress is yet to be finalised. After three years of silence, I made Oppam (2016), which is the biggest hit of my career. Its success is so inspiring. It's time to come to Bollywood again," the director said.
