Akshay Kumar has his hands full with Bollywood movie offers. The actor, who is known to do three to four films a year, has been reportedly roped in for the sequel to National Award-winning "Jolly LLB."
"Jolly LLB," directed by Subhash Kapoor, had Arshad Warsi in the lead role, but he will be replaced in the sequel to the 2013 film. The makers of the film wanted to feature a known actor, as the storyline of the second part will be different. And for that, they had approached Akshay and Saif Ali Khan, reports stated.
However, the makers have zeroed in Akshay for the titular role, Deccan Chronicle reported. The leading daily also reported that the makers might replace Boman Irani also, but there have been no confirmed reports about that.
"Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani were in Jolly LLB and both had received a lot of critical acclaims but the makers were sceptical about repeating Arshad for the sequel, as his last few films didn't do well. They wanted a bigger star and had apparently approached Saif Ali Khan also for the same," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
"But it finally fell into Akshay's lap. There are also reports that instead of Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal will play the other important character in the sequel," the source added.
If the reports are true then this will be Akshay's sixth or seventh project. The actor is currently busy with the promotion of "Housefull 3." "Rustom" is slated to release in August, and next year his mega project "2.0" will be released. Apart from this, the actor will soon start shooting for "Namaste England" and the remake of "Kaththi."
