For quite some time now, rumour has been doing the rounds that Akshay Kumar is teaming up with ace director Priyadarshan for his upcoming next. However, it turns out that the reports were false as the Rustom actor has not signed any project with the director.
A source told the Times of India that Akshay, who recently wrapped up Jolly LLB 2 shoot, has three movies lined up. The actor will also be seen in a cameo role in Taapsee Pannu-starrer Naam Shabana. He will soon fly off to Malaysia to shoot the same. Post this, there are two Neeraj Pandey's films in the actor's kitty – Crack, which is scheduled to hit the theatres during Independence day weekend next year, and Toilet — Ek Prem Katha.
"Akshay is certainly not doing 'Ikka' with A R Murugadoss, nor has he signed the Priyadarshan film. These are just baseless rumours," the source said.
In the past, the Khiladi actor and Priyadarshan had delivered many hits including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and De Dana Dan.
Earlier it was said that Priyadarshan's film would see Akshay as a fun-loving Punjabi guy. Rumour had it that Rohit Shetty would produce the film, which would also see Paresh Rawal in key role.
The shooting of the film was said to begin in April next year, it was also reported that the film would be majorly shot in Mumbai and Punjab. "Akshay will play a loud, fun-loving Punjabi character in Rohit's production. The shooting will start from April next year and take place in Mumbai and Punjab. Paresh has been busy with politics ever since he won the Lok Sabha ticket for the BJP and has done very few films, but he and Priyan are friends, so the actor is making time for this film. He plays a pivotal role in the film," a source had told DNA.
