Akshay Kumar works on at least four films a year and manages do it smoothly. But this time he is stuck between two projects and from what reports claim, he may have delayed Vipul Shah's "Namastey England" to accommodate "Jolly LLB 2" in his jam-packed schedule.
However, a source told Mid-Day that it's not the star's filled-out calendar but the filmmaker's ill-preparedness that is causing the delay. "There have been repeated delays in starting the film due to Akshay's unavailability. But the reason is that Shah is not really prepared in terms of finances to take his film on floors as slated. So, Akshay has preferred to keep himself busy with other projects," the leading daily quoted the insider as saying.
Akshay will be seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha in "Namastey England." This is their fifth film together after "Rowdy Rathore," "Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty," "Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara" and "Joker."
Apparently, this is the third time that the film is being pushed. In December, there were reports that the actor is keen on taking Rajinikanth's "2.0" and will begin with Vipul's project after. Three months later, there was a strong buzz how the actor showed interest in A R Murugadoss' "Ikka."
The director, however, denied reports of the film being delayed adding that the speculations may have been on for long, but they are untrue. "I am not aware of any such thing (Akshay choosing another project over his). These rumours have been (going) around, but I don't think they are true," he told the publication.
Meanwhile, Akshay told Catch News he cannot confirm if he has been approached for "Jolly LLB 2" as it is something that is to be discussed between him and the producer. "I have not signed Jolly LLB 2. I can't say if I have been approached or not as it is a matter of discussion between the producer and me," he informed the web portal.
Akshay has "Housefull 3" and "Rustom" scheduled for release on June 3 and Aug. 12, respectively.
