The movie is an action drama and the "Tevar" actress will be seen in a not-seen-before avatar in it. "Akira" is a remake of Tamil flick "Mouna Guru" (2011) and it is a Sanskrit word that means graceful strength.
"Akira" also features Konkona Sen Sharma, Mithun Chakraborty and Amit Sadh. Another interesting fact about the movie is that the "Raman Raghav 2.0" director, Anurag Kashyap, will be seen in a negative role in it.
Sonakshi's film was earlier clashing with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar's "Manmarziyaan" on Sept. 23, but now the release date has been changed. Fans are eagerly waiting for "Akira" as Sonakshi will be seen performing high octane stunts in the movie.
