Nagarjuna's younger son Akhil Akkineni's debut film has finally teamed up with director VV Vinayak and actor-turned-producer Nithiin for his debut movie. His mother, Amala Akkineni, officially launched the film on Wednesday, 17 December.
It was speculated earlier that Akhil Akkineni's first film will have a grand opening ceremony in the first or second week of December, but the event was reportedly delayed following the death of Vinayak's mother. However, the director asked the producer to launch the movie.
The makers held the muhurat of the film on the Wednesday, which was apparently the last auspicious day of the year. The launch was held at a private studio and it was a low-key affair, which witnessed the presence of the members of the Akkineni family and some celebrities from the Telugu film industry.
Amala Akkineni clapped the sound board and kick-started the shooting of Akhil's debut movie. Nagarjuna was seen directing the first shot of the film, while "Manam" fame director Vikram Kumar switched on the camera. This untitled film is expected to go on floor by the end of December 2014.
Besides direction, VV Vinayak has reportedly written the script for his upcoming movie. Actor Nithiin, who is Akhil's best friend, is producing the movie. The makers of the film are yet to reveal more details about other cast and crew.
