The casting of heroine for Akhil Akkineni's debut film has created lot of curiosity among film goers. If one were to go by the latest buzz, the younger son of Nagarjuna will romance Bollywood beauty Amyra Dastur in the film.
Names of several young Bollywood actresses were linked with Akhil Akkineni's launch film, but the makers were unsuccessful due to non-availability of their dates. Finally, they had to contend with Amyra Dastur. "Initially, they wanted to rope in Alia Bhatt, but her dates are full in the coming year, so they zeroed in on Amyra Dastur," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Dastur started her career at the age of 16 and featured in several commercials including Clean & Clear, Dove, Vodafone and Micromax Mobile. She made her acting debut in Manish Tiwary's Bollywood film "Issaq" alongside Prateik Babbar.
Dastur is set to foray into Kollywood also with KV Anand's Tamil film "Anegan" that has Dhanush and Karthik in the leads.
She will also be seen with Emraan Hashmi in director Vikram Bhatt's upcoming Bollywood movie "Mr X." The Parsi girl speaks English and Gujarati at home. She is likely to learn Telugu for her debut Tollywood film.
Akhil Akkineni's debut movie is written and directed by VV Vinayak and produced by his friend, actor Nithiin Reddy. Touted to be a romance drama, this movie is likely to hit the screens by the end of 2015 and Akhil and Amyra's on screen chemistry is expected to be the main highlight of the film.
The movie was launched at a low-key opening ceremony held in Hyderabad on Wednesday, 17 December. Akhil Akkineni's father Nagarjuna, mother Amala and brother Naga Chaitanya, Manam fame director Vikram Kumar, Nithiin, VV Vinayak and other celebrities were present at the muhurtam of the film.
