Akhil Akkineni's debut movie "Akhil: The Power of Jua" has made decent collection at the worldwide box office in its five-day-extended first weekend and beaten the record of "Kanche".
Amidst hype and expectations, "Akhil: The Power of Jua" was released in over 1,000 cinema halls worldwide on 11 November. Having decent advance booking, the movie opened to a superb response and did fantastic collection at the global box office on its first day. It became the all-time biggest opener for a debut hero, beating all previous records.
But "Akhil: The Power of Jua" received mixed response from viewers and the word of mouth hit its business on the next day. In addition, it also suffered due to "Prema Leela", the Telugu version of Salman Khan's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", which was released in 5,300 screens worldwide on 12 November.
The Akhil Akkineni and Sayesha Sehgal starrer witnessed a steep decline of 65% on Thursday. The business remained low on the next three days. "Akhil: The Power of Jua" has collected approximately Rs 21.80 crore gross at the Andhra Pradesh box office in its five-day-extended first weekend. Its estimated distributors' share stands at Rs 14.61 crore, according to Andhra Box Office.
The VV Vinayak-directed socio-fantasy film has collected approximated Rs 2.95 crore gross in other parts of India. "Akhil: The Power of Jua", which was released in over 250 screens in the international markets, has collected Rs 1.30 crore at the overseas box office in its first weekend. It has become another disaster in 2015, after Ram Charan's "Bruce Lee".
"Akhil: The Power of Jua" has collected a total of Rs 26.05 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the five-day-extended first weekend. The movie is estimated to have fetched Rs 16.34 crore for its distributors. The film has beaten the record of Rs 14.45 crore (Rs 7.85 crore distributors' share) at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend.
