December seems to be an exciting month for the Tamil film industry as there is an interesting line-up of events planned for cinephiles.
From teaser launch to film release, check out some of the upcoming events in the last month of the year.
'Yennai Arindhaal' Teaser Launch
The much-awaited teaser of Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal" is all set to be released this week. While the teaser release is confirmed, the exact date is not yet announced. It is expected to be launched on Thursday, 4 December, as "Yennai Arindhaal" producers are staunch devotees of Sai Baba and the day is considered special for Sai Baba.
Earlier, the makers of the film released the first-look posters on 27 November, which was also a Thursday. The posters have generated a huge buzz surrounding "Yennai Arindhaal" and the teaser is expected to boost the hype surrounding the film.
The Gautham Menon directorial will have Ajith playing a cop's role. Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Arun Vijay and Vivek are also part of the cast.
'Kakki Sattai' Audio Launch
The audio launch of Sivakarthikeyan starrer "Kakki Sattai" (aka "Kaakki Sattai") is expected to happen on 5 December.
There are huge expectations on "Kakki Sattai" album as Anirudh has composed the songs. The music director is on a roll with back-to-back hit albums like "Ethir Neechal," "Vanakkam Chennai," "Maan Karate," "Velai Illa Pattathari" and "Kaththi."
"Kakki Sattai" has already created a positive buzz thanks to the impressive motion posters that were released a few days ago. The motion poster, with theme music composed by Anirudh, has received good response from the fans and it remains to be seen if the film's songs will be able to impress them.
'Vai Raja Vai' Audio Launch
Gautham Karthik starrer "Vai Raja Vai" audio will be released on 10 December. "#VaiRajaVai audio on 10th Dec @ags_cinemas Get ready for an awesome album from #Yuvan @ash_r_dhanush @Gautham_Karthik @PriyaAnand @taapsee," tweeted Archana Kalpathi of AGS Cinemas.
The film's trailer is expected to release during the audio launch, but there is no official confirmation in this regard.
Directed by Aishwarya Dhanush, "Vai Raja Vai" has Priya Anand and Taapsee in important roles. Dhanush is reportedly doing a cameo in the film, which is touted as a romantic thriller. The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
'Lingaa' Release
Rajinikanth starrer "Lingaa" is gearing up for a massive release on 12 December. The film's pre-release business has been fantastic and it is all set to be released in nearly 3,000 screens worldwide.
Fans are looking forward to see their Thalaivar in a live action film nearly after four years. The actor will be appearing in dual roles in the film, which is deemed as a complete commercial entertainer. The KS Ravikumar directorial will have Anushka Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha and Dev Gill in important roles.
"Lingaa" is likely to have a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
'Yennai Arindhaal' Audio Launch
The audio launch of "Yennai Arindhaal" is also expected to happen later in December. Earlier, there were reports suggesting that the audio launch might happen on 11 December, but there is no official confirmation in this regard.
The film's music is composed by Harris Jayaraj and there will reportedly be six tracks in the album rendered by singers including Vijay Prakash, Gana Bala and Karthik among others.
'Idam Porul Yeval' Music Release
This Vijay Sethupathi starrer will have its audio launch in mid-December, but the date is yet to be announced.
Directed by Seenu Ramasamy, the film has Vijay and Vishnu in the lead roles. Aishwarya Rajesh and Nandita play the female leads in the film. Its music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Christmas Releases
Christmas seems to get crowded with several films being planned for release. As of now, five films including Vikram Prabhu's "Velaikara Durai," SJ Suryah's "Isai," Prabhu Solomon's "Kayal," Arya's "Meaghamann" and Siddharth's "Enakkul Oruvan."
Director Mysskin's "Pisasu," a horror film, has been confirmed for release a few days ahead of Christmas on 19 December. Simbu's "Vaalu", which was slated for 24 December release, has been pushed to February 2015.
