Ajith Kumar's "Yennai Arindhaal" has successfully completed its second weekend in theatres. The 11-day box office collection of the Tamil movie is exceptionally good, given the fact that it is a non-holiday opener.
Leading online trade tracker Andhra Box Office has reported that the 11-day gross collection of "Yennai Arindhaal" is ₹77.60 crore worldwide. While the Ajith starrer has grossed ₹ 55.30 crore at domestic box office, it has earned about ₹22.3 crore from overseas box office centres.
Tamil Nadu has contributed a big way to the total collection. "Yennai Arindhaal" has grossed ₹44.33 (₹34.10 crore nett) in the state. The next big centre for the film in India is Bengaluru, where it has collected ₹5.33 crore (₹4.14 crore nett).
From other parts of India, "Yennai Arindhaal" has earned ₹1.50 crore (₹1.10 crore nett), to take its total tally to ₹55.30 crore (₹42.70 nett) in 11 days.
As for overseas collections, Malaysia and the US have been good for "Yennai Arindhaal". While the movie has earned ₹6.75 in Malaysia, it has raked in ₹3.20 crore in the US. The film has made ₹95 lakh in the UK and from other parts of the world, ₹10 crore.
The total overseas business is about ₹22.3 crore and the total worldwide gross stands at ₹77.60 crore. This, according to traders, is above average.
"Yennai Arindhaal" grossed ₹53.65 crore in the first weekend at worldwide box office in the four-day weekend. The film managed to earn good revenue after the first weekend.
It was expected that Dhanush's "Anegan" would impact "Yennai Arindhaal". But the Ajith movie has enjoyed good viewership in the second weekend.
The Tamil movie is a romantic-drama directed by Gautham Menon and bankrolled by AM Rathnam. Trisha Krishna, Anushka Shetty and Arun Vijay are in the key roles. The film opened to mixed reviews.
