Ajith movie "Yennai Arindhaal" is now holding its grip strongly in Kerala. The movie, directed by Gautham Menon, has opened to massive response in 107 screens on its opening today. This is the highest release ever for Ajith in the state
Kerala distributor of the movie KG Nair had also made sure that the film had its first show by 7:30am at Shenoy Cinemax in Kochi. As per latest reports, the movie has got some overwhelming response and the booking for the movie for the upcoming days are getting filled at a fast pace.
Meanwhile, the popularity of Tamil film has again proved to be a bane for Malayalam cinema. The latest news is that Mammootty's movie "Fireman", which was earlier scheduled for release on Friday, 6 February, is now postponed to next week.
The makers of the movie have shared the news through the official Facebook page of the movie. However, it is not clear if the popularity of the Ajith starrer is the reason for this decision. Some sources claim that the makers had to sort out some technical issues.
Postponing of the movie had led to the disappointment of Mammootty fans, but many believe that it is a good decision by the makers as it won't be wise to release the movie amidst the ongoing "Yennai Arindhaal" frenzy in the state.
Meanwhile, "Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeeviyanu" starring Jayasurya has confirmed its release on 6 February and industry insiders are now eagerly waiting to see how the movie will perform in the theatres.
This is not the first time that release of a Tamil movie had caused troubles for Malayalam cinema releases. Recent release of Vikram's "I", Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" and Vijay's "Kaththi" in mass numbers had also led to ruffle between theatre owners, distributors and producers.
