The fans of Ajith will be happy to know that the actor's biggest hit, "Vedalam," is ready for its first satellite telecast. The blockbuster Tamil film of 2015 will be aired on Jaya TV soon.
Jaya TV, which acquired the satellite rights of "Vedalam" for a good price, will air the movie on Sept. 5 on the occasion of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The channel is expected to show the film in the evening.
TV channels usually air big movies to boost TRPs during festivals. Jaya TV's rival channels, including Sun TV, also plan to telecast hit movies on the occasion.
Coming to "Vedalam," the Tamil movie was the biggest Kollywood hit of 2015. It was released on the occasion of Diwali. The film, which was made with a budget of Rs. 60 crore, grossed over Rs. 120 crore at the worldwide box office.
"Vedalam" starred Shruthi Haasan as the female lead while Lakshmi Menon played Ajith's sister in the movie, which also featured Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Ashwin, Rahul Dev, Avinash, Rajendran and others in the cast.
The film was written and directed by Siruthai Siva, and bankrolled by AM Rathnam. The movie had impressed youngsters as well as the family audience, which played a major role in its success at the box office.
'Thala 57' in Europe
The shooting of Ajith's next film, "Thala 57," is progressing at a brisk pace in Europe. It was started on Aug. 2 and the unit will return to India in September.
"Thala 57" is written and directed by Siruthai Siva, who is teaming up with Ajith for the third time, after "Veeram" and "Vedalam." Sathyajyothi Films is bankrolling the flick, which has Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan playing the female leads.
