A few days ago, it was reported that the theatrical rights of Ajith's next film, tentatively titled "Thala 56", was in huge demand in many regions. The latest update is that the entire rights of the film have been sold to different distributors.
The news has been confirmed by leading trade tracker Sreedhar Pillai, who tweeted, "#Thala56 update - All TN & Overseas theatrical rights sold. Title & official press meet shortly. Gearing up for a Diwali release."
There are speculations that AM Rathnam has made good money by selling the distribution rights of the upcoming movie, with some of the key circuits sold for a huge price. Ajith and AM Rathnam's earlier film "Yennai Arindhaal" had made a pre-business of Rs 49 crore, excluding satellite rights.
The untitled movie has reportedly beaten the record of "Yennai Arindhaal", though the exact pre-business made by "Thala 56" is unknown at this stage.
Meanwhile, the makers of the upcoming movie are expected to make some big announcements this week. The production house will reportedly confirm the release plan, among other things.
It is said that the makers are now ready to announce the movie title and reveal the first look in September itself. Both are expected to be revealed on 17 September and the Thursday sentiment of AM Rathnam is expected to continue again.
The teaser and trailer are expected to be released in October. And the audio is likely to be out in the first week of November. Meanwhile, the shooting of the movie is almost complete, with just two songs pending, to be canned on the lead actors. The final schedule will begin on 12 September.
"Thala 56" has been written and being directed by Siruthai Siva, who had earlier worked with Ajith in "Veeram" bankrolled by AM Rathnam. Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon are the female leads in the movie, which will release around Diwali.
