There has been a buzz doing the rounds that the first look teaser of Ajith-Gautham Menon's "Thala 55" will be released in August.
Speculations are rife that the director has already started working on the stylish teaser, according to Indiaglitz. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made.
"Thala 55" (as it is Ajith's 55th film) is one of the most-anticipated films of 2014. There has been lot of buzz about the big budget project ever since it was announced. The film went on floors in April this year and the team has completed two schedules. Around 30 percent of the film's shoot has reportedly been completed and the next schedule is all set to commence soon.
Earlier, there were reports claiming that the film's title will be revealed on 1 May as a special birthday treat for Ajith fans. But, fans were disappointed when the title was not announced. They have been eagerly waiting to get some interesting updates about the project. If the reports of teaser release turn out to be true, then it will be a big treat for Thala fans.
For the first time, Ajith has teamed up with Menon who has several critically-acclaimed and commercially successful films to his credit including "Kaakha Kaakha", "Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu", "Vaaranam Aayiram" and "Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya." The upcoming film is carrying huge expectations, thanks to the first time collaboration of Ajith and Menon.
The film, deemed as an action thriller, has Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan as the female leads. Actor Arun Vijay plays the villain in the film, while comedian Vivek is also said to be part of the film's cast. Raja Simman of "Kuttipuli" fame is said to be playing an important role in the film.
"Thala 55" will have music by Harris Jayaraj and the composer is teaming up with Menon nearly six years after their last film "Vaaranam Aayiram" hit the screens.
The action thriller is expected to release in November. Earlier, it was speculated that the Ajith starrer will be clashing with Vijay's "Kaththi" during Diwali festival period. It may be recalled that the actors' last releases "Veeram" and "Jilla" hit theatres on the same day and performed well at the box office. However, their upcoming projects are unlikely to lock horns at the box office.
"Thala 55" is produced by A.M. Ratnam and the film's cinematography is handled by Dan Macarthur.
