AR Murugadoss had approached Ajith last year with a script, but unfortunately the actor did not give a green signal to the story. Later, the director offered a movie to Mahesh Babu and it was speculated that the same script had been offered to Thala, but it had impressed the Telugu superstar.
However, AR Murugadoss has now come out in open to put the rumours to rest. The filmmaker has said that he had met Ajith with a story called as "Retta Thala" in which the hero had dual roles. But his project with Mahesh Babu has a different story and is not the one offered to the "Vedalam" star.
AR Murugadoss is gearing up to direct Mahesh Babu in a bilingual simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu languages. The project will take off this year and will be ready in 2017 for release. There were also reports that the forthcoming film has been titled "Enemy", but the director has denied it and said that he will reveal the name at the right time.
Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor will reportedly play female lead in the untitled flick, which has Harris Jayaraj's music and Santosh Sivan's cinematography. Other details about the flick are under wraps. Currently, AR Murugadoss is busy with his Bollywood flick "Akira" starring Sonakshi Sinha and it is a remake of Tamil film "Mouna Guru".
Coming to AR Murugadoss and Ajith's film, the director had earlier said that he was willing to direct Thala anytime and the decision has to be made by the star. He made his debut in "Dheena" starring Ajith in 2001 and since then, they have not worked in a film together.
On the other hand, Ajith is recovering from the surgeries that he underwent a few months ago. He has been advised bed rest and hence has not started his next film yet. He will possibly join hands with Siruthai Siva with whom he had earlier worked in "Veeram" and the latest hit "Vedalam", which remains one of the biggest hits of 2015 in Kollywood.
