Ajith-Gautham Menon's "Thala 55" (tentatively titled) is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. The film's shooting commenced on 11 April and the first schedule was completed after 12 days of shooting in Chennai.
Scenes involving Ajith and Anushka Shetty as well as some action sequences were shot during the first schedule.
Now, reports emerge that the film's second schedule is all set to kick off on 14 May. The second schedule will resume in Chennai once again and a song, some action scenes will reportedly be shot.
Ajith is reportedly playing the role of a daredevil cop in the big budget entertainer funded by AM Ratnam. The film also has Arun Vijay in a pivotal role, while music composer Harris Jayaraj will be working on the tunes.
There are a lot of speculations regarding Ajith's character name and the film's title. Buzz is that Ajith will be called Sathya Dev and it might also be the film's title, but there is no official word in this regard.
The Gautham Menon directorial is likely to hit the screens this year.
Ajith's "Amarkalam" Re-release
Ajith's 1999-hit "Amarkalam" is all set to be re-released once again. The digitally-restored film was initially slated to hit theatres on 1 May as a special birthday treat for Ajith fans. However, the film missed the date due to unspecified reasons.
Now, reports are suggesting that the Ajith starrer will be re-released on 16 May. A few single screens in Chennai including Anna, Agastya and Srinivasa have scheduled to screen the film, reported Behindwoods.
"Amarkalam" is one of the most important films in Ajith's career, as it established him as a mass action hero. The commercial entertainer, directed by Saran, has Shalini, Nassar and late actor Raghuvaran in pivotal roles.
