After the success of "Mankatha," Ajith's fans, who fondly call him "Thala," are eagerly awaiting for the release of "Billa 2." The trailer of the movie has already generated huge hype among the fans.
Lately, rumours were rife that film's title would be changed as it is a prequel and not a sequel. Reports suggested that the film would be titled "David Billa" in Tamil and "The Beginning" in the Telugu version. However, reliable sources have denied such rumours.
"Billa 2" is a gangster-thriller film, which revolves the around the main character "David Billa," played by Ajith. The story is reportedly about David Billa's early life and how he goes on to become a gangster. According to the film's director Chakri Toleti, "Billa 2" is a 'serious flick with unexpected twists'.
The first version "Billa," which was released in 2007, was a remake of the 1980 Rajinikanth film with same title which in turn was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 movie "Don" in Hindi. Actors Ajith and Nayantara played lead roles. The film was a huge success and rocked the box office collection.
Apart from Ajith, "Billa 2" has former Miss World First runner-up Parvathy Omanakuttan, who is making her debut in Tamil, and Bruna Abdulla as leading ladies. Music is done by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who also composed for the first version.
