Ajith's upcoming film, "Arrambam" is most likely to be released this Diwali, according to senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai.
"#arrambam - 4 those asking about release date, according 2 my sources film will release Oct/Nov, most likely Diwali release," Sreedhar tweeted.
Directed by Vishnuvardhan, "Arrambam" is one of the most-awaited films of 2013. It has been in the making for over one year though its title was announced only a few weeks ago.
A small teaser of the film, which was released on the eve of the actor's birthday in May, has already generated lot of buzz. Fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite star on the big screen.
Recently, a 57-sceond rough cut of a scene from the film was leaked on to the internet. The scenes showed Ajith hanging upside down and getting beaten by the baddies. The leaked scene went viral in the social media circles. Following this, director Vishnu Vardhan posted a message on twitter saying, "It is very disappointing to see the visuals leaked. I can assure it's not from any of my technical departments."
"My guys r on the job of finding the source. Lets just ignore this and look forward to the film. Thanks guys," he said.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the film's television rights has been bought by Java TV. Behind the scenes of "Arrambam" will reportedly be shown as an Independence Day special (15 August) in the TV channel, according to Behindwoods.
Though there is no official confirmation on the release date, "Arrambam" is expected to be released in October/November. According to Sreedhar, the film might hit the theatres this Diwali. In that case, it might head for a big clash with Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan", which is also expected to hit the theatres on the occasion as a special treat to superstar's fans.
