Ajith's "Arrambam" trailer, which was released on 20 September, has taken the internet by storm.
Even the film's audio was well-received by Ajith's fans. As soon as the music album was launched, "Arrambam" audio topped the list on iTunes India.
The post-production of the film is in full swing and makers of the action-thriller are expected to get the "Arrambam" censored by 15 October to ensure a Diwali release.
However, the film will not enjoy a solo release during the festive season as it is likely to face a competition from Karthi's "All in All Azahgu Raja".
"#DiwaliDhamaka - It is looking more & more like #Arrambam v/s #AllinAllAzhaguraja. Diwali can easily accommodate 2 films at TN b-o," tweeted senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai.
"Arrambam" is an action-packed entertainer starring Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara, Taapsee Pannu, Mahesh Manjrekar, Atul Kulkarni, Rana Daggubati and Kishore.
The film has been directed by Vishnu Vardhan, of "Billa" fame, and its soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
On the other hand, Karthi's "All in All Azhaguraja" (AIAAR) is a comedy caper directed by Rajesh. The trailer of the film is yet to be launched.
The makers of "All in All Azhaguraja" are all set to release the audio on 28 September and the film's music is composed by Thaman of "Osthe" fame.
The film is highly-anticipated to release in theatres during Diwali. Besides the two films mentioned, Vishal's "Pandiyanadu" and Arya's "Irandam Ulagam" are reportedly eyeing for the festive release as well. However, it is likely that these two films will back out of the race.
