Ajith, who is currently busy with Gautham Menon's film, will team up with director "Siruthai" Siva for his next project, according to latest reports.
Earlier, there were speculations on who would Ajith team up with after completing Gautham's "Thala 55" project. Buzz was that the actor would be joining hands with director A.R. Murugadoss for his next project. However, Murugaodss confirmed that his next film will be a Hindi project with Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. This ruled out the possibility that Ajith-Murugadoss film will happen sometime in the near future.
Now, reports have emerged that thala will be teaming up with his "Veeram" director for a new project. "Veeram", which hit screens in January this year, performed well at the box office. There were reports claiming that Ajith had evinced interest in working with Siva once again. It is now revealed that the actor's "thala 56" (Ajith's 56th film) will be directed by Siva.
The director is currently working on the script and is reportedly planning to commence the project in November this year.
"Siva is currently writing the script for the Ajith flick and the talks have also been finalized. It is in an early stage of production and they have plans to start shooting from November. Apart from Ajith and Siva doing the film, no other detail (including the production house) has been finalized on the project. While they were working on Veeram, apparently Ajith had told Siva that he would like to work with him again. Recently, he firmed up that he will start the project once Gautham's film is complete," a source told the The Times of India.
More details about the film, its cast and crew are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
Ajith is busy shooting for Gautham's film, which is touted to be an action thriller. The film has Anushka Shetty, Trisha, Arun Vijay and Vivek in pivotal roles. This is the first time that Ajith has teamed up with director Gautham for a project and it has raised the expectations of their fans.
The action entertainer is progressing at a brisk pace in Chennai. It is expected to be wrapped in a few months after which post-production work will commence. The film's music is composed by Harris Jayaraj, who has teamed up with Gautham nearly six years after their last hit project "Vaaranam Aayiram." There have been buzz doing the rounds that the first look teaser of "Thala 55" will be released in August, but there is no official confirmation on the same.
Produced by A.M. Ratnam, "Thala 55" is expected to hit the screens in November.
