If the latest reports are to be believed, the release of Kamal Haasan's "Uttama Villain" has been postponed once again.
Latest buzz is that the comedy drama might hit screens only in 2015. A trusted source has told Indiaglitz that the film's makers have planned to release it during Pongal 2015.
If it turns out to be true, then "Uttama Villain" might clash with Ajith's "Thala 55" which is also expected to hit the screens for Pongal 2015. However, official announcement regarding the release dates of both the films are still awaited.
Earlier, there were reports that the Kamal starrer will be releasing on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October and later the film was pushed to 7 November for Kamal's birthday.
The shooting of "Uttama Villain" is completely wrapped up and the post-production work is going on in full swing.
The film's motion poster was released in March and received fantastic response from the fans. There are huge expectations as Kamal has a massive fan-following worldwide. The first-look teaser was unveiled during the Vijay Awards event. However, it is yet to be released on Internet for the audience viewing.
"Uttama Villain," directed by Ramesh Aravind, is about an ageing superstar. The film will have Kamal Haasan in dual roles as an eighth century drama actor (Uttaman) and 21st century film star (Manoranjan).
Andrea, Pooja Kumar, Balachander, KS Vishwanath, Urvashi, MS Bhaskar, Jayaram and Nassar are also part of the film's cast.
Kamal himself wrote the screenplay and the dialogues.
Ghibran has worked on the soundtracks, while Thirrupathi Brothers and Raaj Kamal Films have produced the film.
On the other hand, the shooting of Ajith's "Thala 55" is progressing well. It is expected to be wrapped up soon, after which the post-production work will commence. Directed by Gautham Menon, "Thala 55" is tipped to be an action thriller with Ajith playing the role of a cop. Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan are also part of the film's cast.
Expectations are sky high for "Thala 55" as Ajith and director Gautham Menon have teamed up for the first time. Ajith's different looks in the film has generated huge buzz surrounding the project. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film's title as well as the first-look poster, which are expected to be released soon.
Harris Jayaraj has composed the songs for "Thala 55" and there will be five songs in the album. The action entertainer is produced by AM Ratnam.
