Tamil actors Ajith and Vijay have not found a place in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list in 2015, which is topped by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
While Ajith had occupied the 41st position previous year, Vijay had settled at the 31st spot in 2014. But this year, both stars are not featured in the list of 100 celebrities from India.
An elite panel compiles the list, taking money and fame into consideration. The earnings of the celebrities in the set period, their presence on print, television and internet media are the key factors in preparing the list.
Ajith had two releases in 2015: Gautham Menon's "Yennai Arindhaal" in February, and Siruthai Siva's Diwali offering "Vedalam" . Vijay, on the other hand, had only one release in the form of Chimbudeven's fantasy-adventure "Puli", which bombed at the box office.
The surprise entrant
Santhanam has found himself in the list of Forbes India Celebrity 100. His entry has surprised the industry as it is rare to see a comedian making it to the list. The estimated amount earned by him stands at Rs 45 crore.
Oscar Award winning music composer AR Rahman (14th), Dhanush (37th), Kamal Haasan (46th), Kajal Aggarwal (58th), Suriya (71st), comedian Santhanam (52nd), Shruthi Haasan (61st), Rajinikanth (69th) and Prabhu Deva (88th) bring up the names of celebrities from Kollywood who are on the list.
Actors, television stars , sportspersons, authors, film directors, music directors, singers and comedians are featured in the list.
