Speculations are rife that Bollywood movie Pink is now being remade in Kollywood. It is also being reported that Thala Ajith will play the role enacted by Amitabh Bachchan in the original.
The buzz is that Ajith has recently given his approval to act in the remake, which will be produced by Boney Kapoor. H Vinoth will be tweaking the story to suit the local sensibilities and direct the much-awaited project.
H Vinoth, who has directed Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, was not willing to do the remake initially but agreed after Ajith gave his nod to act in the flick.
Ajith had reportedly given his word to act in their home production to late Sridevi when she was alive. Now, the actor is keeping his word by acting in a movie produced by her husband Boney Kapoor.
The forthcoming movie will hit the floors in January 2019.
Pink is a courtroom drama social thriller in which Big B plays the role of a lawyer who helps three girls falsely targeted in a prostitution case.
Ajith is currently busy with his next movie Viswasam with director Siruthai Siva. This is the fourth time the duo are working together after Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam. Nayanthara plays the female lead in the movie which also has Anikha, Vivek, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, Ramesh Thilak and others in the cast.
Viswasam has D Imman's music, Vetri's cinematography and Ruben's editing. The original plan was to release the film for Diwali 2018, but delays in the commencement of the shooting forced the makers to push the release. Now, the movie will hit the screens on Pongal 2019.
