Rohit Shetty's "Golmaal 4," which has been titled as "Golmaal Again," is expected to roll sometime later this year, but the final cast is yet to be locked. The makers are on the lookout for a female lead; it could either be Deepika Padukone or Alia Bhatt.
In a chat with DNA, Arshad Warsi, one of the actors of the comic caper, confirmed that either of the mentioned actresses will be pulled on board. Apparently, he has been privy to the casting discussions.
"We start sometime in December. It's always fun to be back working with this crazy team. Ajay, Tusshar, Shreyas and I — we are all excited. But we will miss Bebo this time," the daily quoted Arshad as saying.
Interestingly, Arshad tweeted saying he never confirmed the names of the leading ladies who could be a part of "Golmaal 4." Here's what he wrote: "I did not confirm any leading lady for Golmaal 4. Media gave me @aliaa08 & @deepikapadukone name and I said could be... WTF."
Kareena Kapoor Khan has been part of the franchise since its last two films, but this time she had to let go of it. The leading lady will be taking a maternity break October onwards and the only film she has right now is Rhea Kapoor's "Veere Di Wedding."
Alia, when asked if she had been approached for "Golmaal, said she would love to work with Rohit. She is gearing up for Gauri Shinde's "Dear Zindagi," which stars Shah Rukh Khan as a life coach. The film will arrive in theatres on Nov.25.
Meanwhile, here's what Deepika is upto. She has signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavati," in which she plays the titular role. The actress doesn't have any other release this year, which means she could schedule "Golmaal 4" somewhere in her date book. But apparently Sanjay wants his actors' complete focus and attention on "Padmavati" and this makes working on simultaneous projects difficult.
