Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is perhaps the most famous Indian face in the world, has failed to make it to the latest list of "sexiest women in the world". FHM India magazine revealed on Tuesday that she is out of the list.
The news comes at a time when the actress is being hit hard by the "too fat" controversy surrounding her weight. Post the birth of her first child, the former Miss World gained ample weight which invariably invited hordes of criticism from the public.
"100 sexiest 2012 list is out. While Kat retains her supremacy, Aish is out of the list," tweeted FHM India.
Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a daughter in November 2011, and since then, she has been scoffed for not shedding her baby weight in time. Though the Bachchans and several people from the film industry have voiced support for the actress, her weight gain appears not to have gone down well with the public.
Just a few days ago, actress Kareena Kapoor, who has gone back to being a size-zero, slammed plump actresses by saying "Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out."
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif topped the list of 100 sexiest women for the fourth time in a row. Amongst the other actresses who made it to the top ten this year include Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor. Aishwarya, who is currently out of the list, stood in eighth place last year.
FHM India, a leading magazine, releases its world's sexiest women" list every year. The winners are chosen based on online polls and messages.
The magazine has revealed Katrina Kaif as the winner of this year's sexiest women poll, but is yet to publish the list.
