Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback film "Jazbaa" has hit a roadblock as co-star Irrfan Khan has undergone a surgery. However, the actress' fans needn't worry as the shooting will begin as soon as Irrfan recovers.
"Yes, Irrfan has undergone a minor surgery and has been advised bed rest. His recovery is my priority and the shoot shall commence once he is fit. I can't say anything about the exact date of the shoot but the script reading will definitely take place on Tuesday," Bollywood Life quoted "Jazbaa" director Sanjay Gupta as saying.
The script-reading, which is reportedly to be an elaborate one, is apparently an attempt to make the stars and crew members bond with each other. According to a Hindustan Times source, the makers have called on primary as well as secondary actors for the event so that they get comfortable with one another's style of acting.
"Internationally, it's the norm. More than anything, it helps the cast bond with each other before the shooting starts. It's a better arrangement than having the actors reach the sets and directly begin reading their lines in front of each other," Gupta told HT.
Returning to the silver screen after a 5-year-long hiatus, the Bachchan bahu's last performance as the nurse to quadriplegic magician Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan) in "Guzaarish" was appreciated by both critics and audience. Busy with motherhood, the former beauty queen reportedly said that she refused to accept work until her toddler could be left without her around.
"Jazbaa" too landed in her kitty after husband Abhishek Bachchan pushed her to take the project up. The film also stars, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Siddhanth Kapoor. Additionally, Aish has signed Karan Johar's next directorial "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
