Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, often called one of the most beautiful women in the world, turned 40 on Friday (1 November).
Aishwarya Rai on her birthday today thanked everyone for their wishes. She also held a press conference at their residence Janak in Mumbai on Friday morning.
The actress looked beautiful in simple red dress with minimum make-up.
During the press conference the actress said that along with the family, her little daughter Aaradhya also sang "Happy birthday" song for her.
The Bachchan Bahu wants to celebrate her 40th birthday with just daughter, husband Abhishek and other family members. Aishwarya Rai from the past few months has been busy with endorsements and events and therefore has not been able to spend time with family.
So this year, the former beauty queen will celebrate her birthday with her daughter Aaradhya, Abhishek and their parents.
"Ash is a very family-oriented woman. Nothing matters more to her than the family. She has been traveling a lot with Aaraadhya. Abhishek has also been shooting abroad. And Bachchan Saab is constantly on the move fulfilling one commitment after the other. The family wants to spend some time with mother and daughter," Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.
And to make her 40th birthday special, Abhishek has planned for a party, which will be attended by family members and close friends.
"Aishwarya usually celebrates her birthday with her family. This year, Abhishek has invited close family friends to the Bachchan bungalow for a private birthday party," Mid-Day quoted an insider as saying.
