Aishwarya Rai Bachchan To Help Raise Funds For Fight Against AIDS At Cannes Film Festival

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been attending Cannes International Film Festival for 11 years now, but this year the actress is attending the fest for a cause.

The former Miss World recently confirmed that she will be attending the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, scheduled to be held between May 16 and 27.

It is also said that the actress will take her six-month-old Beti B along with her to France.

"Aishwarya will take her daughter along with her as she cannot stay away from the newborn," Aishwarya's spokesperson confirmed.

Aishwarya, who is associated with cosmetic brand L'Oreal for more than 11 years, will attend the film festival to raise funds for fight against AIDS at an auction there.

The 38-year-old actress will walk the red carpet for two days on May 24 and May 25 as brand ambassador of L'Oreal. She will also attend The American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) dinner to help raise funds for the fight against AIDS.

"Eleven glorious years....the journey so far has been remarkable and truly memorable. This year, I am especially privileged as I also get to lend my support to a very important cause at the amfAR dinner, by helping raise funds for the fight against AIDS, at the AMFAR auction," Aishwarya said in a statement.

"It makes me proud that L'Oreal Paris sponsors and supports our fight against AIDS through this special amfAR event at Cannes," she added.

AmfAR is an international nonprofit organization which supports AIDS research, HIV Prevention, Treatment education and the advocacy of sound AIDS related public policy.

The list of Hollywood celebrities who would attend the dinner includes, Gwen Stefani, Milla Jovovich, Aimee Mullins, Liya Kebede, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly, Julianna Margulies, Diane Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Kenneth Cole, Milutin Gatsby, Michel Hazanavicius & Berenice Bejo, Ryan Kavanaugh, Karl Lagerfeld, Hugh Laurie, Carine Roitfeld and Harvey Weinstein.

Apart from Aishwarya Rai, the other Bollywood celebrities who would attend the film fest are Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor.
