Sanjay Leela Bhansali famously calls Aishwarya Rai Bachchan his muse. So when he made back-to-back films with Deepika Padukone, the filmmaker was asked if his equation with Bachchan has changed over the years.
If what is being said about Bachchan's special appearance in Padmavati is true, then this might be Bhansali's answer to all those who are curious to know if he still shares the same rapport with the leading lady or not.
"Bhansali spoke to Ash and they both are really keen to make it work. The song will be filmed during a 15-20 day schedule, which includes rehearsals at a suburban studio. Ash also has a few dialogues," a source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror. However, the special number will not be a dance-off (like in Devdas and Bajirao Mastani). "This will completely different from anything seen before," the insider added.
What else is happening with Padmavati?
This period film is special and quite massive, in terms of production value. It is being touted as one of the biggest films to be ever made. Some have even opined it's "much bigger in scale and impact" than Baahubali.
"Every important song and battle scene in the film is going to be filmed on an international scale. In fact Padmavati will be the first Bhansali film to have a separate international cut, different in length and character from the desi version which will be longer. Of course his Devdas and Black got a global audience, but they were not cut separately for an international audience," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
Padmavati stars Ranveer Singh as Mughal ruler Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
