Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda have already mesmerised viewers with their first looks from "Sarbjit." After Priyanka Chopra starrer "Mary Kom," filmmaker Omung Kumar is helming another biopic on the life of the Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh.
The movie features Randeep as Sarabjit, an Indian national convicted by a Pakistani court of terrorism and spying. While he was awarded death sentence, Sarabjit died after jail inmates attacked him in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat prison.
Aishwarya plays his sister Dalbir Kaur and Richa Chadha essays the character of Sarabjit's wife. While Aishwarya impressed viewers in her de-glam avatar, Randeep shocked fans with his first look.
A photo of Randeep as Sarabjit, in which the actor looked so weak that his bones could be seen, went viral. It was from the scene when Sarabjit Singh was in jail. Stills of Aishwarya and Randeep from the film are now doing the rounds.
The new still shows Randeep all pumped up and the image is from a scene before his character is imprisoned. Randeep had reportedly lost 18 kgs within 28 days to get into the character and then, gained weight within 20 days as the director wanted to shoot a few flashback scenes.
On the other hand, Aishwarya's movie still is also mesmerising. The former Miss World looks beautiful in her simple, de-glam look.
"Mary Kom" actor Darshan Kumaar also plays an important part in this flick. He has been roped in for the character of Khalid Pervaiz, a Pakistani lawyer who fights Sarabjit's case.
The biopic is being produced by Sandeep Singh, Zeeshan Quadri and Omung Kumar. The film will hit the theatres on May 20, and is expected to be released at the Cannes Film Festival as well.
