Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first choice for the item song in his film "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela". But it was Priyanka Chopra who finally got the song.
Last year, it was reported that Bhansali wanted to cast the former Miss World in the item song and even she was considering the offer to return to films.
However, Bachchan denied the offer of doing the special number. It was Chopra who accepted the offer of doing the item song which went on to become one of the popular item numbers of the year 2013.
According to reports, when Bhansali offered the song to Bachchan bahu the lyrics were different. The lyrics had line "Thappad se dar nahi lagta, pyaar se dar lagta hai," Deccan Chronicle reported.
"Thappad se dar nahi lagta, pyaar se dar lagta hai," is a famous line from Salman Khan's blockbuster film "Dabangg" which was released in 2010.
The "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" actress was shocked when she heard the lines, according to DC.
She than asked the "Devdas" director to change the lyrics before giving her nod to the song. But Bhansali simultaneously approached Chopra and offered the song to her which she accepted. But it is unclear why the item song featuring Chopra had different lyrics.
There were also reports that the Bachchan bahu denied the item song because she wanted to take care of her daughter Aaradhya. For the former Miss World, her daughter is the first priority.
Meanwhile, Bachchan's loss was Chopra's gain. Chopra had donned a sultry seductive avatar for the song "Ram Chahe Leela Chahe" for which she received tremendous response from people.
