Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will soon make her comeback on the big screen with her hubby Abhishek.
The actress has been on a break in the past three years following the birth of her daughter Aaradhya.
During her sabbatical, there were a lot of speculations on Aishwarya's upcoming film. The rumours were dismissed by the actress.
But this time a reliable source has confirmed that Aishwarya will make her comeback in a Mani Ratnam directed film.
Aishwarya made her acting debut in Ratnam's 1991 release "Iruvar". Ratnam is very close to Aishwarya and Abhishek. He has also worked with them in hit films like "Guru" and "Raavan".
This time Ratnam is planning to direct a film which will have the celebrity couple in lead roles. Aishwarya is said to have given her nod to do the project.
"Mani shares a fabulous equation with Abhishek and Ash. But this time he's planning to direct a film which has a very strong female protagonist's character. Mani feels there is little room for Abhishek in his next," a source told Bollywood Hungama.
"Aishwarya was very clear about her priorities after she became a mother. She gave a hundred of her time and concentration to her daughter Aaraadhya for two years. Now that Aaraadhya is ready for playschool Aishwarya can start thinking of seriously coming back to acting."
Last year, there were reports that Aishwarya would do an item song in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela". But she didn't take it up as she wanted to change the lyrics, for which Bhansali had refused.
"While she's looking forward to working with SLB, she's all set to return with Mani Ratnam's next project," the source said.
