Bollywood stars have been scaling new heights over the years, with their popularity soaring not just in India but also among viewers abroad. Realising their popularity and potential, Hollywood filmmakers have evinced interest to work with them.
But these stars are not so keen to foray into Hollywood for various reasons.
Here are the actors who have said no to Hollywood film offers:
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan turned down a golden opportunity of working in a Hollywood film. Steve Martin-starrer "Pink Panther 2" had offered the role of 'Vicente' to the "Bang Bang" actor but he rejected it.
Deepika Padukone
Not many can boast of being offered (let alone rejecting) the superhit "Fast & Furious" series. But leggy-lass Deepika Padukone had to reject Vin Diesel-starrer "Fast & Furious 7" due to date issues. At that time, the actress was busy shooting for "Happy New Year" and "Ram-Leela".
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar once confessed that he rejects Hollywood film offers whenever he is offered. He said, "I am happy and satisfied with the Bollywood offers. Here, I have a huge fan group to entertain and I am not going to fit in to Hollywood so I keep refusing to do projects there."
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a famous face in Hollywood and is in high demand among film makers after she did films like "Pink Panther 2", "Mistress of Spices" etc. But that does not mean the diva has ever neglected her Bollywood films.
The former Miss World was once offered the film "Troy" opposite Brad Pitt but she rejected it. She said, "I am not comfortable doing those intimate scenes with Brad Pitt. There are lots of kisses and explicit lovemaking scenes. I am not comfortable at all."
Priyanka Chopra
"Mary Kom" actress Priyanka Chopra, who became famous worldwide with her "Exotic" track, rejected Hollywood flick "Dawn of War." It was then offered to "Slumdog Millionaire" actress Frieda Pinto.
PeeCee did not agree to work in the film due to date issues. At that time, she was busy with "7 Khoon Maaf" shoots and so had to refuse the offer.
Ronit Roy
"Ugly" fame Ronit Roy was offered an interesting role in a Hollywood flick "Zero Dark Thirty" but the actor rejected it and he does regret for it.
He said: "I was shooting for Karan Johar's "Student of the Year" and I was looking to work with him and couldn't let go off this opportunity. We were shooting in Thailand for the film and there was no way I could manage my dates for "Zero Dark Thirty"."
