Aish-Abhi Love Story: Karan Johar played Cupid Between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan [VIDEO]

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan's love story is known to the universe, but not many know that director Karan Johar played the role of cupid in their story.

During the third season of Karan's popular chat show "Koffee With Karan", the director brought out his role in their love story, which Aishwarya wasn't aware of, and said how he really wanted Aishwarya and Abhishek to be together.

Apparently, the director and the actress met on a flight when Karan asked Aish about her love life status. It was after that, Karan told Abhishek that he and Aish would make a lovely pair.

"Karan was the cupid who kept putting in the idea that she is fantastic. You both will look so wonderful together. She looks so glamorous in the house when she walks," Abhishek said.

The pair started dating while shooting Mani Ratnam's film "Guru" in 2006 and in February 2007 Aish-Abhi got married.

But it is not known to many that during the shooting of "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna", Abhishek for the first time said that he loves Aishwarya.

During the shooting of "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna", there was an extremely emotional scene where Abhishek had to hold his father's photo and tell Rani Mukherji that he is no more.

After that scene, the cast of the film including Abhishek, Karan, Rani and Ayan Mukherji broke down. "That was the first time I told somebody that I was in love with Aishwarya Rai," Abhishek told Niranjan Iyer during the chat show  "Look Who's Talking With Niranjan Iyengar". 

Meanwhile, the former beauty queen turned 41 on Saturday and if reports are to be believed, she will be celebrating her birthday with husband Abhishek and his "Happy New Year" team members.
