The advance booking of Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer "Airlift" started on Wednesday worldwide. "Airlift" is one of the much-awaited films and the first big one of 2016.

The advance booking took off especially well at single screens. The morning shows have received a good response, but in terms of occupancy, afternoon and evening shows are better.
In circuits like National Capital Region, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore the opening day shows are filling up fast. And since the movie carries a positive buzz, the opening day occupancy will increase before its release. Also, once all the theatres open the pre-booking counter, the occupancy will increase further.

Directed by Raja Menon, "Airlift" is based on the story of the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war. The film, which is releasing just before Republic Day, has created a strong buzz for its impressive storyline.
The trailer of "Airlift", which is touted as a masterpiece, gave a glimpse of the biggest evacuation and raised the curiosity level of moviegoers. Starring Akshay and Nimrat, the film will be released worldwide on 22 January.
"Airlift" will clash at the box office with the adult comedy "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3" starring Tusshar Kapoor, Mandana Karimi and Aftab Shivdasani.
