Budget airline AirAsia and AirAsia X — the long haul budget airline service from AirAsia — announced Sunday promotional fares across various sectors on both domestic and the international circuits. The company is calling it the Big Sale.
The carrier said the promotion will help connect travellers across 22 countries to over 100 destinations. The promotional all inclusive fares start from Rs 1,099 on domestic destinations such as Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Kochi, Imphal, Goa and Delhi. The connectivity on these routes will be provided by AirAsia's India arm, AirAsia India.
Travellers can fly to Kuala Lumpur from Kochi, Chennai or Hyderabad for Rs 2,999 onwards. The connectivity on these sectors will be provided by AirAsia Berhad. Tickets to Bangkok from Chennai and Hyderabad — a sector connected by Thai AirAsia — are priced upward of Rs 3,999. The week-long promotion started March 7. The travel window for the tickets ranges between October 1, 2016 and May 22, 2017.
"We have introduced many new and undiscovered routes throughout the region and grabbing a promo Seat in the Big Sale is the best way to discover new destinations," Siegtraund Teh, chief commercial officer of the AirAsia Group, said in a statement, adding: "Guests from around the region can take advantage of our Fly-Thru service to connect to many exciting AirAsia X destinations such as Auckland, Sapporo, Tokyo, Gold Coast, Sydney and more."
The promotion comes at a time when AirAsia India continues to make losses.
