A week after a man was lynched and hanged in Dimpaur, Nagaland, for allegedly raping a girl, a 22-year-old youth in Agra was killed by a mob for allegedly misbehaving with a girl.
Having "exposed himself indecently" when a girl from his neighbourhood was passing by, Jeetu, a shoe factory worker, was subsequently beaten to death by an irate mob, reports The Indian Express.
The girl had complained about the incident to her family members; Jeetu was allegedly drunk when he 'misbehaved' with the girl.
Brothers of the concerned girl were part of the mob that resulted in Jeetu's death. They also own a shoe factory and are currently absconding, police said.
Families of both Jeetu and the girl belong to the Dalit community.
Meanwhile, Jeetu's family members demanded action against the culprits, and tried to block the traffic by placing his body on the road.
